Who runs this site

benmabrouk.fr is a personal, non-commercial learning site operated by Seif. For any question about your data, use the contact page.

Server logs

As with most web servers, the server that hosts this site records every request in an access log: your IP address, the date and time, the requested address, the response status, the amount of data sent, the referring page and your browser’s user agent. These logs are used for security and troubleshooting. They are rotated daily and, in the current configuration, the last 14 rotated files are kept before they are deleted.

Cookies and browser storage

The site does not set cookies for visitors. WordPress login cookies exist only for the site owner. The roadmap and quiz pages save your progress (checked phases, best scores) in your browser’s local storage, on your own device. That data is not sent to the server, and you can erase it by clearing the site data in your browser.

Comments

If you post a comment, the site stores the name and email address you enter, the comment itself, your IP address and your browser’s user agent. WordPress uses the last two for spam detection. Comments are moderated: they are published only after approval. Your email address is not published, and it is visible only to the site owner. Avatar images from external services are disabled, so posting or reading comments does not contact an avatar service.

Contact form

If you use the contact form, the site stores your name, your email address and your message in its database. They are visible only to the site owner in the administration area. The form does not store your IP address. To limit abuse, the server keeps a keyed hash of your IP address, not the address itself, for up to one hour to count how many messages come from the same visitor. The form does not send any email.

Third parties

The site does not use analytics, advertising, external fonts, external scripts or embedded third-party content. Some pages link to other websites, such as official documentation and video platforms. Those sites have their own privacy policies, which apply once you follow a link.

How long data is kept

Comments and messages are kept until the site owner deletes them. Server logs follow the rotation described above.

Your rights

You can ask, through the contact page, for a copy of the data linked to your comment or message, for its correction or for its deletion. Depending on where you live, data protection law such as the GDPR may give you additional rights, including the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority (in France, the CNIL).

Changes to this page

If the way the site handles data changes, this page is updated and the date at the top changes.
